What about using the RatZap outside?

We get this question asked alot mainly from property managment companies that like to control the inside and outside. 

The RatZap shouldn't get wet at all since it is an electric high tech instrument but it can be used in hot or cold outside (just keep it dry).  Simply place a pail or garbage can/ bucket on its side and place RatZap in it.  This will in no way decrease the effectiveness of the RatZap but will keep it sufficiently dry.

What about using the RatZap in very cold weather?

The RatZap will not be harmed.  The only problem might be shorter lasting battery life.  Just like a car battery might have problems in real cold weather, the same could happen.

Saying all that, we have many RatZap's in use in barns and sheds all over North America. 

Do I have to wash my RatZap or how do I keep it clean?

Remember that the Rat or mouse simply slides out of the RatZap when you 'dump them out'. There is no blood or mess. But once in a while, if the rodent (on death) urinates it could cause a problem that is easy to fix with cleaning.  Read more about cleaning the Zapper!
